Digitizing your AP Portfolio

All images must be submitted in JPEG format (file name extension .jpg) and RGB color mode. We recommend using files that are 72 pixels-per-inch (ppi) because a higher resolution does not add clarity when viewing images on a computer screen.

Recommended image sizes:

Landscape orientation:

• Recommended maximum size: 530 x 780 pixels (7.36 x 10.83 inches)
• Recommended minimum size: 480 x 480 pixels (6.67 x 6.67 inches)

Portrait orientation:

• Recommended maximum size: 780 x 530 pixels (10.83 x 7.36 inches)
• Recommended minimum size: 480 x 480 pixels (6.67 x 6.67 inches)

The image sizes above are recommendations. Students' image sizes may be different.

Maximum file size:

Files cannot exceed 3.0 MB per image.

(Students' image files will likely be considerably smaller than that.)

Free Disk Space:

• Drawing and 2-D Design Portfolio: Based on the maximum file size of 3.0 MB and a total of 24 digital images per portfolio, each student needs a maximum of 72 MB of free disk space per portfolio.
• 3-D Design Portfolio: Based on the maximum file size of 3.0 MB and a total of 38 digital images, each student needs a maximum of 114 MB of free disk space.

The AP^® Studio Art Digital Submission Web application is now available at http://apstudio.ets.org.

How you access the Web application will vary, depending on whether you used the application last year:

• If you participated in digital submission last year at the same school, simply log in using last year's user name and password. Do not set up a new account. If you forgot your user name or password, use the "Forgot your user name?" or "Forgot your password?" features on the sign-in page.
• If you used the Web application last year but have since changed schools, you will need to log in using last year's user name and password and then update your school information. • If you are brand-new to digital submission, view this demo and follow the instructions to set up access.Before you can set up access, you will need the following information from your AP Coordinator:

1. your school code: 502040

2. your Teacher/Coordinator Key: tzx2601

You should pass access information, including your school code and Teacher Key, to all your AP Studio Art students as soon as possible so that they can set up their access and begin uploading images. For more information, visit the demo.
